School Addition in Guatemala

  • Panajachel Guatemala (map)

In 2017, the JD Sheth Foundation took 44 volunteers to Panajachel, Guatemala to build a three-room addition to a school and three houses for selected families in need. The school for blind and deaf children needed additional classroom space, so over the course of two weeks, our volunteers added on three new rooms. The first week’s group focused on building the interior and exterior walls. Then the second week’s team mixed and poured all of the concrete flooring and did the final touch-up work on the walls. As an extra special touch, one of our volunteers, Joshua Mackey, painted a mural on one of the walls in the school.

Thank you to our corporate sponsor, Pollux Systems, Inc., for contributing toward the funding of the school! And thank you to all of our volunteers who continue to support our projects!
